Indianapolis motor speedway is playing host to round 3 of the Link ECU Formula Drift Prospec championship and it is the 2nd of 3 new tracks being introduced into Formula Drift this year. Being at new tracks definitely evens out the playing fields and no one really has an advantage over the next person which is great for us as rookies in the 2026 season!

Wednesday:

Load in and set up day is always a nice day, it’s relaxing and we can spend the day setting up our pit area and doing some final adjustments on the car ahead of Thursdays practice session. We also have to collect all of our tires for the week on Wednesday and get some of them swapped over onto our rims. It’s the one day we can also spend some time talking to other drivers as Thursday and Friday tend to be quite busy!

Thursday:

Practice day is usually off to an early start on Thursday but there were some delays on the track side and most of the drivers only managed to get 1 practice lap in, some drivers didn’t even get any! We were one of the lucky ones to get a practice lap but after a few incidents FD decided to change the track up slightly to make it a little bit safer. We got an extended practice for the 2nd and final session where we managed to get in another 4 laps. I was feeling so good behind the wheel of the NonStopTuning mustang and had a lot of confidence leaving Thursday and heading into game day on Friday.

Friday:

Game day! We had great rest Friday night after watching the seeding and Pro qualifying we saw some areas in which we can improve our line through some sections of the track. We had one more practice session where we managed to get in another 2 laps before our Top 32 battle. I was feeling really good and super excited to start the battles. Car is great, I feel great and just ready to kick things off!

Our top 32 battle was against Ryan Kaufman, we did a practice run with him and knew that he had good speed and a super smooth line. After our first run I gave him too much breathing room when I was in the chase and the judges gave us a OMT! We knew in this 2nd run I really had to put it on his door and risk making contact because that’s how hard I needed to push. We managed to get the win and we were so pumped to move on to top 16!

Again we get to experience the opening ceremonies, doing this in our rookie year is such a great achievement for us. Our top 16 battle we had Stuart Fam in his Corvette. We know Stuart is a great driver and we just had to give a solid lead run and be smooth behind him in the chase. He had a gap on me in the chase but I did not want to sacrifice my line to cheat down and get proximity because the judges don’t necessarily want that. We got the win on Stuart and that put us in the Great 8 up against Carsen Ruger.

Carsen has been driving great all week, very smooth and calculated. I was comfortable with putting it on his door in my chase knowing he was going to give me a great lead run and he did just that. We got the win against Ruger and was moving onto the Top 4 where we would battle Dima Brutskiy who is just ahead of us in points for the championship.

It was a hard battle and both of us were pushing really hard when the rain started to fall. Dima made a slight mistake on the final corner and that was enough to give us the win in our battle!

Next up we were in the finals against Camren Sorensen, this was going to be a great battle, I have never driven with Camren and was not too sure on his driving style but my spotter Mr Pawlak had been watching him in practice and knew what I needed to do. We chased first and was having a semi decent run until the 2nd to last corner where Camren slowed down quite a fair bit and I made contact with him. We finished our run and Cam had an advantage into our 2nd run. I laid down a great lead but unfortunately it was not enough to upset the mistake I made behind him. Cam got the win, we got 2nd and we still maintain 2nd in the overall championship going into our final round in Vegas.

Our NonStopTuning Mustang is working so great and I am so looking forward to this final round in Vegas, see you there!

WORDS: Jason Webb
PHOTOS: @dynamicrangeltd

NST - NonStopTuning
www.NonStopTuning.com

Another PODIUM! 2026 Formula Drift Indianapolis | Jason Webb NonStopTuning Ford Mustang Video Recap

https://www.nonstoptuning.co/blog/another-podium-2026-formula-drift-pro-spec-round-3-indianapolis-jason-webb-nonstoptuning-ford-mustang-video-recap

https://www.nonstoptuning.co/blog/another-podium-2026-formula-drift-pro-spec-round-3-indianapolis-jason-webb-nonstoptuning-ford-mustang-video-recap#comments

Uncategorized

Another round, another fight at the top of the championship standings! Well I can’t! We knew after Atlanta we had to make some changes to the car. One of the major changes was changing the differential ratio. In Atlanta we were running a 3.55 diff ratio and it was far too long! We were struggling so much with too much wheel speed and with only 720hp I was not able to get the car to feel alive. Going into Stafford we knew we had to make the change to atleast a 3.91 diff ratio.

We went to Stafford a few days before the round to get the new diff installed. I bought another 3.55 diff and installed a 3.91 gear set onto it. Yes we still run a stock welded diff on the Mustang! Matthew Bystrak was kind enough to let us use his shop in New Jersey ahead of the event and this helped us so much. It was convenient being close to the track, just 3 hours away.

Wednesday:
Wednesday was load in and set up day. Nothing too crazy. I picked my dad up from the airport that morning after his flight in from South Africa and we did the 3 hour drive up to Stafford Motor Speedway. With heavy rain and tornado warnings hitting our phones we decided to leave the car in the trailer until Thursday.

Thursday:
Thursday was another relatively relaxed day, we did not have to do seeding because we finished 2nd in Atlanta which pre seeds us into the top32. There was just 2 practice sessions we wanted to do but with heavy clouds and rain falling from the sky, we were reluctant in doing any practice at all. The reason we wouldn’t want to do practice is because there's a higher risk at wrecking the car and Friday, the day that actually matters for us had a beautiful clear forecast for the day.

Fortunately the rain stayed in the heavens and we decided to do some practice. Straight away we felt how amazing this Stafford tarmac was, smooth, grippy, clean, great tire wear. We did a lot of changes to the car to make it easier to drive, I was struggling with a mental block of throwing the car towards a wall at 70mph. Something I have not done in about 4-5 years. I ended Thursdays practice kind of happy but not super stoked with how I drove.

Friday:
Game day, Friday. We start the day with drivers meeting and then we start getting ready for the one and only practice session before the main event. Standing on the line in practice I had to speak to myself, remind myself of who I am and what I am capable of. I threw the car into the bank and stuck it right on the wall, in that moment I reminded myself of how great it felt to be on the edge of wrecking your entire car and running a super good run. I ended the practice session super happy and absolutely ready for the Top 32 battles.

Three battles before my top 32 battle I jumped in the car and wanted to fire her up to get to the starting grid and she would not fire up at all. Frantically trying to find some sort of electrical issue, Kevin Wells came over and started the 5min clock which only allows us 5 minutes to get the car out of our pit area under its own power. With 30 seconds to go and now having a power steering issue we had to call it and just head to the grid, no power steering and uncertainty about our electrical issue. I managed to shut the ignition off while rolling to the starting line, turn it on and jump start the car again, this little reset switched the power steering back on and we were good to go.

Our battle was against Allen Boss, and after everything that had just happened I had a real scrappy run and so did Allen. We both made mistakes and I thought it would One More Time. We got the win in that battle and we moved on to the top 16!

Our top 16 run was against Collete Davis, I knew it was going to be a fun but tough battle, Collete has been in the game for some time and knows what she is doing, I knew we had to push. After this battle I knew that I had just laid down my best lead and chase run of the weekend so far, I was feeling so good and fired up. We got the win against Collete and we advanced into the top8!

Our top 8 battle was against Tyler Meyer, Tyler knocked me out in seeding in Atlanta and it was my turn to try get redemption. I laid down the best lead run I possibly could, my spotter told me where Tyler had made mistakes and that I need to capitalize on those areas. Going into the bank I put it on his door, rubbing it with my front wheel at times, we dropped down into the in field and I somehow missed the handbrake and made a tiny mistake but I was still with him almost taking both our bumpers off, going into the final corner I made another mistake on the transition, I missed the entire final zone in the final corner and was way on the inside. These mistakes gave Tyler the win and we got knocked out!

We finished in 5th for Round 2 and are still sitting in 2nd position so far in the overall standings. In just a couple weeks we will be heading to another new track in Indianapolis for Round 3 and I can’t wait to get back out on the track again!

Huge shout out to our sponsors for supporting us, NonStopTuning, Vex Performance, Mia’s Racing, Drift Farm Motorsports, Dynamic Range Media, Link ECU, Hot Line, Iwon Performance and Peak Simulators! See you all in Indy!

WORDS: Jason Webb
PHOTOS: @dynamicrangeltd

NST - NonStopTuning
www.NonStopTuning.com

Jason Webb NonStopTuning Ford Mustang | 2026 Formula Drift Stafford CT Video Recap

https://www.nonstoptuning.co/blog/jason-webb-nonstoptuning-ford-mustang-2026-formula-drift-stafford-ct-video-recap

https://www.nonstoptuning.co/blog/jason-webb-nonstoptuning-ford-mustang-2026-formula-drift-stafford-ct-video-recap#comments

Uncategorized

The first ever visit to Stafford CT for Formula Drift and the NonStopTuning drift team. Over the last year we have been putting in countless hours to get this car built and ready for battle. When I imported this car from South Africa I knew we would have to rebuild this entire car in order to compete in FD and the reason we kept this car was because it was right hand drive and it was still cheap enough to import the car rather than start with a whole new build.

Just 3 days before we made the 4500 km drive to Atlanta from Canada we managed to get the NonStopTuning Mustang out for some testing. We got 4 laps of testing in and I was not feeling as comfortable as I would’ve liked after those few laps. The seating position, steering position, peddle position and feeling of the car was so foreign to me. The entire car has been completely rebuilt, I hadn’t driven this car in almost 2 years, we haven’t had much test time but here we are about to drive 4500 km to our first round of FD.

Tuesday:
After 4 days of driving we finally arrived at Road Atlanta, it was a surreal moment for me. Coming through the gates and realizing that we have arrived to compete in our first round of FD Prospec. Tuesday was tech day, we decided to get the earliest slot as possible incase we needed to make any changes to the car, then we still had a full day to rectify any issues. Fortunately everything was great with the car and we could go find our pit spot and start setting up.

As we found our pit space we got tornado and flood watch warnings. We then decided we weren’t going to set anything up, packed the Mustang back into the trailer and called it a day. We went on to our Airbnb to get some much needed rest, unfortunately our Airbnb was not what we had seen in the pictures or reviews and we were left scrambling to now find another Airbnb to house myself and the team. Luckily we found one a bit further away and Airbnb helped us get a refund from the old place. Now we could get some much needed rest.

Wednesday:
Wednesday was a relatively relaxed day, all we had on our schedule was a drivers meeting and track walk. The weather was still not great, with rain and high winds lurking we left the car in the trailer for as long as possible. In fact I think we left the car in the trailer the whole day so it did not become the local swimming pool being a convertible.

Drivers meeting was great, I met some of the drivers, teams and FD staff for the first time and reminded myself about all the hard work myself and the team has done to get us to this point.

Track walk was a real eye opener, seeing the track in person for the first time and realizing how narrow the track really is was a shock. The elevation from the starting grid to turn 1 and then back up to the keyhole was wild to see in person. Watching it live does not do it any justice. I then got a good understanding of where I need to put the car and try to find some points along the track that I can use as markers. Now we head back to the pit area and call it a day.

Thursday:
Thursday was game day. We started the day off with another drivers meeting with the judges and a photoshoot showing off our Mia’s Racing race suit and sponsor decals! After that we could gather up all our gear and start heading to the hot grid to set up for our first practice runs.

At this point the rain was on and off and going into our first run in practice the rain was still falling. The bottom half of the track was wet and the keyhole had started drying out. Going into the final corner I hit a stream going across the track and went to full steering lock using all the Hot Line Iwon suspension angle, this slowed us down so much that the driver chasing us came smashing into us. Luckily it was just cosmetic damage but it took some time to fix and we did not get another run in practice.

Next time we were out on track was the warm up for seeding. The track was dry and now we could finally start getting some dry runs in. We managed to get 2 runs in during warm up and now we were getting ready for our top 16 seeding battle against Christian Cotrone. We were leading going into this battle and I tried laying down the best lead run I could, with the minimum laps we got in practice I was still figuring out the car and track. Christian had some mistakes in the chase and was dealing with some car issues. Going into my chase run I knew I just had to have a clean chase and stay on track. As I initiated in the lead I had almost no handbrake, I was pumping it and fortunately had just enough to get the car to rotate. Christian then over rotated in the keyhole and we got the win. Moving us into the top 8 of seeding but more importantly giving us a spot in the main event top 32.

I quickly went on the radio and told the team we had a handbrake issue. After getting back to our pit box we noticed the handbrake caliper bolts were missing and the caliper was jammed up against the footbrake caliper! Fortunately the team next to us had exactly what we needed and we were able to get it fixed before our next battle.

Our next battle was against Tyler Mayer in the top 8. Tyler is a great driver, very smooth and calculated. I knew I had to give out some really good runs to get this win. Tyler was flawless and he managed to knock us out in the top 8. We were happy we made it into the top 32 and that was our main goal for the seeding battles! We then got back to our main pit and prepared the car for Fridays battles.

Friday:
Friday was the big day. Top 32 and we in the main event for our first round of FD! Thursday night we decided to do some changes to the car so Friday morning the team got busy making the changes while myself and Justin went to drivers meeting.

After our drivers meeting we had an autograph session where we met so many great people. It was such a great feeling being back in competition and meeting all the amazing fans!

We then got ready to head out for our first and only practice session on Friday. We got there early and was second in line. While I was in the burnout box getting the tires and car ready I noticed my engine temps were rising rather quickly, I asked the start line guy to please look under the hood to see if I had lost a belt, he then confirmed that by throwing my broken belt on my lap. I rushed back to the hot pit and the team quickly threw some new belts on. We then managed to get 2 runs in before practice ended and were kind of ready for our top 32 battles!

Our top 32 battle was against Collin Zielinski. We knew this was going to be a tough battle and had to lay it all down on track. Collin lead first and I was in chase. The run was going great until the last corner, Collin over rotated, I slammed on the brakes trying to avoid him, unfortunately making contact with him and I went flying backwards into the wall. It was quite a hard hit but fortunately it was just cosmetic damage.

We then went into the 2nd run of our battle where I would be leading, I knew I had a massive advantage and just had to lay down a clean lead run. That was enough to get us the win and move onto top 16.

Going into top 16 was such a great achievement for us. We knew now we would go into the top 16 parade and be a part of the opening ceremonies. Standing there listening to the USA Anthem play was a moment I will never forget. After watching this on TV for so many years I finally get to be a part of this for real.

Our top 16 battle was against Adam Heishman, another fellow Mustang driver. I’ve watched Adam before and knew I had to lay down yet some more killer runs. When Adam was in the chase position, he hit me going up to the keyhole and broke something on his car ending his run. We then got the win against Adam and we were now in the top8!

Our top 8 battle was against Dustyn Farrel, this I knew was going to be one of the toughest battles of the night. We both pushed extremely hard and both had some mistakes, Dustyn's mistakes were slightly more than mine which gave us the win and we were now moving on to the top 4!

We were against Dmitriy Brutskiy in the top 4, two time Prospec champion! We knew this was going to be a heavy task ahead of us but we were ready for it. Each run we got better and better and I was feeling better with each run I did. Brutskiy lead first and it was a strong run until the last corner, Brutskiy ran wide and dropped 3 wheels off track, I was following him and when he went off track it lead me off track too. They put that on Dmitriy and I had an advantage going into my lead run. I tried laying down the best and cleanest run I could and I made some mistakes but nothing big enough to offset the mistake that Dmitriy had in the lead.

We got the win and now we actually made it into the finals of our first Formula Drift Prospec event!

We were up against last years Atlanta winner Cory Talaska, oh boy did we know this was going to be an amazing battle!

I knew I had to give 120% to give us a chance of beating Cory. Cory’s lead was flawless, he put the car exactly where the judges wanted and he was fast! I fell behind slightly and knew he had the advantage going into our next run.

I tried laying down the best lead run I could but I came up short in the keyhole and Cory’s chase was better than what we could give him. I have always had a passion for motorsports. I grew up at the race track watching my dad, brother and cousin do track racing and knew that's what I wanted to do one day. I started off racing go-karts and in 2009 I stumbled across a couple guys drifting at our local race track. It was the first time seeing it live and I fell in-love with it immediately. 1 year later I got an opportunity to join a drift team. I was trained on a skid pad for roughly 4 months before being allowed to drive on the main track. The team I joined had their very own skid pad and race track so I was very fortunate to get this opportunity and sure did not let it go to waste. After 6 months of training, I was finally ready for competition, in my first event I finished 2nd behind my teacher and finished the championship in 3rd place overall that year. This was in 2011, later that year I was signed by Monster Energy and remained with them until I left South Africa in 2023. During that period I won 4 National Drift Championships, finished on the podium every year I competed and travelled to Europe to do various events like Gatebil, Tahko on ice and some fun drift sessions in the UK.

Fast forward to today, my wife and I have immigrated to Canada and we decided to import my beloved convertible Roush Ford Mustang when we immigrated. It was cheaper to import the car rather than get a new chassis in North America, and I still get to drive on the correct side of the car! Being from South Africa we drive on the right side and I feel in competition I would feel more comfortable remaining on that side of the car rather than trying to adapt to LHD. We sent in a petition to get our Formula Drift Prospec license and got approved! Now came the tough part, finding sponsors to help make this dream possible.

I have seen and heard about Non Stop Tuning throughout the years of watching FD and when the time came that they opened registration for sponsorships we thought let's give it a try! After a handful of meetings with Mike, we sealed the deal and became an NST driver for the 2026 Formula Drift Prospec championship. I am so pumped to be a part of the NST family and to represent NST in FD! I look forward to growing our partnership together and using their amazing products on the track!

See you all in Atlanta!

-Jason Webb
  <div
